Ekin Kano, Artist

Ekin Kano is a visual artist based between Istanbul and Berlin. She holds an MA in Visual Arts from Sabanci University and a BA in Photography and Video from Yildiz Technical University. She also attended the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, as an exchange student. Her first solo exhibition, My Ribs Heave, Variations on Being, opened in Istanbul in 2019 at St. Joseph Caporal House as a parallel event of the 16th Istanbul Biennial. Her second solo exhibition, Damp Earthwas shown at ÖktemAykut Gallery in 2020. In 2021, she won the Postane Istanbul Site-Specific Project Prize. She is the co-author of Otomy, published in 2022 by Onagore and winner of the Volumes Book Award 2022.
